Good leadership training and being a true leader |

There are many types of leaders out there - and often, even though it may be a type that we look down upon (like an authoritarian type or dictator), the type of leader needed by a people is whatever type will work best. In cultures with an authoritarian tradition and patriarchal belief systems, there is no point to pushing a democratic leadership when we already know what works best.
With that in mind, true leadership training involves that sensitivity and awareness. A true leader can adapt their style to meet the needs of the people, whether those people are a country of voters or a group of students on a student project. Good leadership training trains one to be sensitive to changes in the environment - that is, the environment of politics, psychology and ideas. What's going on in people's heads? What do they think of this? What do they think of you? That is true leadership training and awareness.
In the end, regardless of leadership style - if a leader lacks awareness he is unable to lead, because leading is about the people and not about the person who is doing it. |
